By becoming a 2013 sponsor of Feed’em Soup Community Project your investment helps feed our neighbors and nourish hope!
Because of our 2012 sponsors, we were able to reach our goal and purchase brand new reliable equipment for our kitchen so that we could meet the growing demand. In one meal last summer, we were able to serve 407 plates of food. This record-breaking attendance is further proof of the need for fresh, hot meals in our community. With our average attendance just above 300 people, your support is vital now more than ever. Our Wednesday dinner service is “donate-what-you-can.” Those who are able are welcome to leave a donation in the can conveniently located on each table. Those who are not able to donate are welcome to dine, no questions asked. We estimate that 85% of our guests are unable to leave a donation at all and struggle every day to provide food for themselves and their families .
This year we are working hard to expand our services. Starting the first week of January, we started providing a meal every Wednesday, thus increasing our offering to the public twofold. But this is still not enough. Area citizens ranging from young families to senior citizens still struggle to provide for themselves in a weak economy. They depend on our meals not only for sustainability but hope – hope that things will get better.
2013 will prove to be our toughest fiscal year yet. This year we will face many challenges as we continue to grow to better serve our community. With our sights set on providing a meal on a “donate-what-you-can” basis as many as 5 times per week within the next couple years, we have many needs. Later this year our partners that we share our space with will be moving into their own building. Our kitchen is the perfect building and location for our organization. For us to be able to continue to operate in our current facilities we need to increase our budget by over $30,000 this year. Your help is vital to not only keep our doors open but to allow us to grow and provide our meal services more days each week. With your help as a sponsor, we will be able to meet these needs and continue to serve great food to our community.
